Lung Cancer Treatment and Prevention Tips

Lung cancer is the growth of abnormal cells that going uncontroll. It is start off in one or both lungs; usually in the cells that line the air passages. The abnormal cells do not develop into healthy lung tissue, they split fast and form tumors. When tumors become larger and more numerous, they undermine the lung’s ability to provide the bloodstream with oxygen. Tumors that remain in one place and do not appear to spread are known as benign tumor.

The following tips can prevent from lung cancer.

1. Beware the radon of your house.

Radon is the leading cause of Lung cancer. It is an odorless gas that results from the decay of natural uranium in the soil beneath your house. Elevated levels of radon have been found in homes in all  states and around the world. If  you want to know if you are at risk is to test your home for radon.

2.  Beware of chemicals of your home.
Chemicals that contribute to lung cancer are found not only at the outdoor, but may be in your garage. Carefully read labels on household products and follow the instructions for safe usage. Wood smoke from wood burning stoves and fireplaces may also increase the risk of developing lung cancer.

3. Smoking is the primary  cause of lung cancer, responsible for 80 to 90% of lung cancers. It is not easy to quit smoking, but you can do it if you have strong will. For those who have been diagnosed with lung cancer, smoking cessation may improve survival.
Secondhand smoke is responsible for more than 4000 cases of lung cancer each year in the United States. Living with  smoker person increases chance of developing lung cancer by 20 to 30%. 

4. Eat lot of variaty vegetables and fruits as your primary food.
Eat lot of fruits andvegetables is linked with a lower risk of developing lung cancer. Recently, studies says that variety even more important than quantity. Make lung cancer prevention fun by trying out new foods in the produce section. Try to choose a rainbow of colors, including dark greens such as spinach and broccoli, the whites of onions, the reds of tomatoes and apple, and the winter squash and orange juice.

5. Drink a cup of green tea everyday. Green tea has been proved to prevent some of the damage to cells caused by chemicals or smoking, and some people who consume more green tea appear to have a lower risk of lung cancer.
